Taiwan has invested more than US $100 million to start the second phase stainless steel plant construction plan in Turkey

Taiwan stainless steel tube factory will allow a breakthrough in tariff barriers and continue to play a bright role in Turkey and Europe. In addition to speeding up the first phase of Turkey's factory building plan, It also decided to invest more than US $100 million (equivalent to nearly NT $3 billion) to continue to promote the second phase of plant construction project. It is expected to be put into operation from the third quarter of 2023. The planned monthly output of industrial piping is 2000 metric tons, with a total investment of more than US $200 million (equivalent to nearly NT $5.6 billion) in phase I and phase II projects. After completion, the total monthly production capacity will be increased to about 6000 metric tons.

Yunqiang has commercial tentacles all over the world. It has Changhua Xizhou factory and tangdou No. 6 factory, which mainly produce stainless steel pipe, stainless steel coil and other products. At present, the monthly output is more than 35000 tons.

Zhan lielin, spokesman of Yunqiang, said that at present, Turkey's first phase of plant construction project is in full swing, and began planning the second phase of plant expansion project. It is expected to start building the plant from the second quarter of 2022, and it is planned to be completed and put into operation from the third quarter of 2023. It mainly produces stainless steel industrial piping products, with a monthly output of 2000 metric tons.

As for the first phase of the project under construction, most of it has been completed. It is expected that after the completion in March 2022, it is planned to start commissioning from the second quarter and gradually produce in mass from the third quarter. It is expected to produce all-round from the fourth quarter. The planned monthly output of stainless steel coil is 2500 metric tons and that of structural pipe is 1500 metric tons, with a total monthly output of 4000 metric tons.

As for the source of raw materials, Zhan lielin said that the main cold-rolled stainless steel raw materials after the completion and operation of phase I and phase II in the future will be purchased from POSCO Turkey plant in South Korea.

If the material source is insufficient, import from neighboring countries for supplement. At the initial stage of planning, it will focus on the domestic market and expand the export market in Europe and other places in the future.

It is understood that the annual demand for stainless steel in Turkey is as high as about 700000 tons, of which 75% is dependent on imports. But China has imposed anti-dumping duties on imports from Chinese mainland Taiwan, mainland China, Vietnam and Malaysia. The tax rate in Taiwan is 8%. However, countries are still actively rushing into it. Obviously, the market is huge, and it also attracts strong and positive investment to set up factories.
